Police in Macomb County Brace For Major Traffic When New Chick-fil-A Opens

September 25, 2024, 1:25 PM by  Allan Lengel

Love it or not, Chick-fil-A has become an American phenomena.

With that in mind, Roseville police have put in place an extensive plan to deal with heavy traffic when the Georgia-based chain opens its latest outlet on Oct. 3 in the parking lot of Macomb Mall on Gratiot Avenue near Masonic Boulevard, according to the Macomb Daily.

The Macomb Daily reports:

According to police Chief Mitch Berlin, the police department has met numerous times with company officials to work out a plan that includes arrow boards, traffic cones, pylons, and manpower. The chief said there’s no way of predicting the turnout, adding authorities will evaluate the plan on an ongoing basis.

“We will have these resources available inside the parking lot property and Gratiot Avenue to provide a continuous flow out of the parking lot,” he said. “We potentially will shut down the first lane of Gratiot if the need is there so all things run smoothly.”
